Expect complex deals and fascinating clients. Whether you join a coverage group or a product group, you’ll soon be managing the delivery of work that matters to our clients and our business.
What to expect
Your journey will start with intense training designed to introduce you to the firm, our approach and the skills you’ll need as a banker. After this, if you’re based in New York, you’ll complete a series of three five-week rotations across industry and product groups, followed by permanent placement in one group. If you’re based outside New York, you’ll go straight into one of these groups after training.
Either way, you’ll rapidly master all aspects of executing a transaction. Challenges will include:
- Financial analysis and modeling
- Industry research
- Client relationship management and due diligence
- Developing written materials, including offering memoranda and new business presentations
- Reviewing the work of junior colleagues
How you’ll develop
During your Associate years, we will provide you with a visible path to promotion to Vice President, and the tools to help you get there.
Our intense six week Initial Training Program will give you the tools you need to make a strong start and build your momentum. After training, New York-based Associates spend 15 weeks rotating between three groups, building your network and learning through hands-on project involvement. Not only will you build your technical skill set during these rotations, but our unique program will provide ample opportunity to expand your network and develop your leadership skills.
Beyond this, you’ll find plenty of additional training available to keep the momentum going. A mix of formal and informal Continued Learning programs will give you the knowledge you need, exactly when you need it. As you progress, detailed performance coaching and feedback from both your group and your Program Management team will keep you on a path to promotion.
